■3rd Person POV■

Oikawa and Y/N arrived at Y/N's mother's house. Y/N has been quiet ever since her conversation with Oikawa in the car earlier. Oikawa walks to the back of the car and takes something from the car. He already prepares a gift for Y/N's mother. Y/N presses the bell of the house and waits. Not long after Y/N's mother opens the door to see her daughter and Oikawa.

Y/N mom: Y/N? and... Tooru? what are you doing here?

Y/N: Mom, Tooru participated in the Olympics weeks ago as a member of the Argentina volleyball team, and he decided to stay in Japan for a month... uh and he wants to visit you...

Y/N's mother looking back and forth at Y/N and Oikawa. In his mind, does her daughter and Tooru made up?

Tooru: it's been a while (mom name) san, how are you?

Y/N mom snaps out of her mind and shook her head internally.

Y/N mom: what are you talking about by it's been a while? it's been forever Tooru, I'm doing great, how are you? look at you looking even more handsome than before.

Oikawa laughs at the statement, Y/N too smiles watching the interaction between her mother and Oikawa. Her mother is close with both Oikawa and Iwaizumi, so it's normal to see them like this. Y/N mother let the youngsters get into her house. As she was about to go to the kitchen to prepare some drinks, Y/N prevents it and went to the kitchen instead.

Y/N: mom you can sit with Tooru, I'll go get the drinks.

Y/N goes to the kitchen and make some tea for them. Oikawa and Y/N's mom sitting in the living room. They talk and catching up with each other for the past five years. Something has been bothering Y/N's mother, she's wondering about how Y/N and Oikawa's relationship.

Y/N mom: Tooru, have you and Y/N make up?

Y/N is string the tea when she heard her mother speak. She stops whatever she'd been doing and listen to what Oikawa and her mom talking about in the living room.

Tooru: yes, we have made up

Y/N mom: so are you guys back together?

Y/N flinches when she heard this, she clenches her hand and standstill.

Tooru: no... we... don't 

Y/N can feel her chest ist throbbing when she heard Oikawa's answers. but

Tooru: well, not yet... I'm still trying to make her trust me again (mom name) san...

Y/N's mother's eyes are widened when she heard what Oikawa said. Y/N too is listening from the kitchen and was still surprised even after all Oikawa's attempts within this week. Oikawa Looks at Y/N's mother's eyes and then he bows.

Oikawa: one more time... I want to apologize for what I've done to her years ago... I hurt her because of my own greed, and for that, I was being punished for not being able to contact her all those years... it was... like hell... not knowing what she did, how is she doing, or thinking about how some other guy might already snatch her away... but I... I'm too ashamed to try to contact her again.... I only asked through Iwa chan... which is... like a coward.

Y/N's mother looks back at Oikawa as he says everything that he wanted to say. Oikawa has this serious look, his eyes showing how he means everything that he said.

Oikawa: I love Y/N... I always do... even back then when I'm acting like an unfaithful jerk, I only have her in my mind... but that time... I was an idiot who can't even win against my own greed.

Oikawa takes a deep breath

Oikawa: but this time... I won't make the same mistake... this time... I'll make it right... so please, even Y/N hasn't accepted me... I would like to ask for your permission to keep on pursuing her... she really is... the only one for me

■Oikawa's POV

There I said it, I've said everything I wanted to say. I turn my gaze down to my feet, after intensely staring at (mom name) san's eyes. After saying all of that, I suddenly became anxious. What would she think about me after hearing all of that? I hurt her daughter, disappointing her and now I just ask her for... some sort of blessing?

I could feel that someone is standing right Infront of me. As I look up I meet (mom name) san eyes. Just then.

Whack!!

Y/N's mother, smack me hard on the top of my head. Is she possessed by Iwa chan? I'm starting to get scared.

Oikawa: (mom name) san... I uh, I'm so sor-

I was cut off when Y/N's mother hugs me. It startled me, a lot. Y/N mother pats my back and starts to talk.

Y/N mom: I told you that I think of you as my own son, along with Hajime and GBF/N didn't I?

I remember the day before I left, and I nod.

Y/N mother: when my child makes a mistake, I have to punish them.... and then... I'll forgive them... back then I didn't punish you... now I've done it... you're completely forgiven by me... Tooru

I was surprised by what she said. She pulls away from the hug and then looks at me. I look back at her and she places her hands on my shoulder.

Y/N mother: I forgive you Tooru... but, about how you and Y/N will end up... it's up to you... and Y/N.... I can only watch the two off you... but I know, the way your eyes look like when-

just then I heard the sound of a door closed. Both Y/N mother and I look at the kitchen, Y/N isn't there anymore.

Y/N mom: she must be going to the backyard... good luck Tooru... just, give her another push... she's too, all of these years... couldn't forget about you

Oikawa nods his head and heads out to the backyard.

■Y/N's POV■

I sit down on my mother's terrace in the backyard, I hid my face on my knees. After hearing mom and Tooru's conversing earlier, I was filled with uneasiness. Just then I can hear the door was open and then closed again. Someone's steps are getting closer, it's Tooru's. He stopped next to me and sits down. I still hide my face on my knees, hugging my knees closer to my body.

Oikawa: Y/N... I'm not gonna apologize for what I've said to your mother... I meant everything I've said...

Y/N: why Tooru... why me? is it because you felt guilty

Oikawa: no, it's not! well, I do feel guilty about what I did back then, but, my feelings for you aren't related to that.

Tooru moves to crouches in front of me. He places both hands on my shoulders and makes me look up at him, but I avert my gaze somewhere else.

Oikawa: Y/N listen... I've loved you since middle school... since before I started asking you out, I already like you, you can ask Iwa chan... that's why that day on our third year when you finally accept me, I was so happy.... and that feeling, I still have it all the same like it used to.

Y/N: no Tooru... I

Oikawa: Y/N look at me... please let me have a second chance... I know you don't trust me because I'm such an asshole back then, but I've changed I swear.. I know I'm such a jer-

Y/N: Tooru it's not that...

Oikawa: Then what is it? what is it that you don't like about me I'm going to change i-

Y/N: IT'S NOT YOU, IT'S ME TOORU....

I snapped, Tooru was surprised. I can't hold it anymore, tears are falling from my eyes, and I look up at him. Tooru's eyes are widened.

Oikawa: Y..N?

Y/N: it's not you Tooru.... It's me, I'm not enough... Tooru is amazing you're smart, hardworking, good looking, tall and you're just... perfect

Oikawa: Y/N

Y/N: but I'm not perfect... I... don't think... I'm enough for Tooru..

Oikawa: Y/N listen up

Y/N: I'm not tall that's why after you left I started wearing heels.... I'm learning to use makeup... I can't help to think that... you met other women because I wasn't enou-

I was shut when Tooru pulls me into his arm and crashes his lips to mine. I was startled that my head went blank for a second. When I'm back to my sense, I tried to push him away, but Tooru holds me tightly. One of his hands stays behind my head and the other one is on my lower back. I squirm trying to make him let go of me, but he doesn't bug. I start to feel how gentle his lips on mine, the hand behind my back is rubbing me softly trying to calm me down. I finally gave in and grip the front of Tooru's shirt. He pulls me even closer and I can't help it, more tears coming out of my eyes.

Tooru finally pulls away, as he then puts one of his hands on my cheek. He lifts my face upwards, so my eyes met his. He stares right into my eyes, tenderly.

Y/N: Tooru...

Oikawa: You're enough... You're perfect for me Y/N... back then, it's all my fault, not yours, not even a slight. I love your face, your height, your everything... more importantly your heart. 

Tooru press my head to his chest and buried his face on my head. I can hear Tooru's heart is beating so fast. 

Oikawa: losing you is one of my biggest mistakes in life Y/N... I always regret what I did... I lost you, can't see you, can't talk to you or hear your voice for years... It's torturing me

Y/N: am I really enough for you Tooru? am I really important to you?

Tooru push me back a little so he could look at my face.

Oikawa: when I said that you're the only one for me... I mean it... you really are the only person that I love Y/N... You're my only one... I love you Y/N

My heart feels heavy and I can help it, I cry again. But this time I finally gave in, I cry on Tooru's chest, hitting it.

Y/N: why did you do that? Tooru, you hurt me so much.... I thought I'm not enough, I became anxious... I regretted not seeing you off, I'm sad when I heard you got your citizenship in there... I miss you but... I didn't dare to contact you because.... I thought I'm not enough... not worth-

Oikawa: I'm sorry Y/N, sorry I hurt you. I would never think of you that way... You're perfect for me Y/N... I... without you, aren't perfect... so please, let's start again... this time I will surely treasure you even more than before. I love you Y/N

I can't keep it anymore, I nod on his chest.

Y/N: Tooru... I love you too...

Tooru hugs me and buried his head on my shoulder. I can feel wetness on my shoulder, Tooru's trembling, he's crying.

Oikawa: Thank you Y/N... thank you for taking me back....

I hug him back and cry on his shoulder as well.

Y/N: please... don't hurt me again Tooru...

Oikawa: no I won't... I swear to God, Iwa chan can break my neck.

I chuckle at his answer.

Y/N: Hajime won't do that... hehe

Oikawa: he will if I hurt you again... 

We stare at each other's eyes, and Tooru leans in. He then kisses my lips again, and I kiss him back. And, we're back together.
